Zoë Cavinder is a biologist turned home-educator with a passion for pedagogy, food policy, and creating a world where clean, healthy food is accessible to all children not only as a source of nutrition but as a source of joy and community.
After graduating from UCSB's Bren School with a master's in Environmental Science and Management, Zoë worked for the US EPA assessing safe pesticide levels in foods, learning about food safety and the efficacy of antimicrobial pesticides, and exploring safer chemical alternatives. While this was impactful work, Zoe dreamed of nurturing her creative and entrepreneurial spirit. After having her first two children, she decided to pivot and start a children's food business in Denver, Colorado with the mission of providing healthier and more dynamic meals to children. After moving to Bozeman amidst the pandemic, Zoe began her journey home-educating which has included farm education, visits to the dairy farm, using the garden as a classroom, and many culinary pursuits.
Zoe is a mother to three young boys and is happiest recreating in the outdoors, cooking, gardening, or reading by the fire on a snowy day.
