I am honored and excited to serve as the new Executive Director of Gallatin Valley Farm to School. Being new to Montana, I am extremely impressed with the support of local food, the respect for the Gallatin Valley’s agricultural heritage, and your investment in the needs of the community’s youngest citizens. All of these are at the heart of what Gallatin Valley Farm to School is trying to accomplish. I look forward to joining such a dedicated team and building upon the organization’s strong foundation.
Much of my professional background has been focused on addressing the root challenges that can help to improve communities. Most recently, I served as the Executive Director of Bike Utah where we worked to improve mobility choices. Our emphasis was on making the communities accessible for people regardless of age, ability, or income. I was also the founding board chair for the Green Urban Lunchbox, which is an urban agriculture nonprofit based in Salt Lake City. Our focus was on using existing community resources to create new agricultural opportunities.
Access to local, healthy food is one of our basic needs and has so many positive impacts for individuals and the broader community. I am excited about all of the potential for Gallatin Valley Farm to School to cultivate healthy kids, vibrant farms, and strong communities. As an independent non-profit organization, we rely upon collaborative partnerships and community support in order to fulfill our mission. Please feel free to reach out if you would like to learn more about what we do and how you can get involved.
Thank you for your ongoing support of Gallatin Valley Farm to School.
