Outdoor classrooms bring learning to life! Hawthorne Elementary School Parent Council and Gallatin Valley Farm to School are hosting a two-day Learning by Nature teacher workshop March 20th and 27th from 4:00 to 6:00pm.
The cost is $50.00 per school and $5.00 per teacher for materials. There is no limit to the number of teachers that attend from a school for this cost. Teachers from any school are welcome. Each teacher can receive four CE credits.
The first workshop will help teachers develop new understandings and strategies to easily and safely integrate the intriguing wonders of nature and gardens into existing subjects, the Common Core and overall school health.
On the second day, participants will strategize and design an approach for how to integrate age-appropriate concepts and lessons through the K-5 curriculum using outdoor spaces and gardens. Hands-on inquiry based learning, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem solving skills throughout the subjects will be emphasized.
For additional information, or to RSVP contact Leslie Dominick firstname.lastname@example.org by March 1st. Space is limited so make sure you sign up early!
