Have you ever wondered how a tomato becomes a tomato? Did you know that there are millions of living things in the soil under our feet? Join us in your school’s garden to explore the life cycle of plants, the interdependence between plants and insects, the life within the soil and more. And of course, harvest and taste fresh fruits and vegetables that you grow!
GVF2S assists area schools in developing, maintaining and utilizing school gardens. We deliver hands-on science, language arts and math lessons utilizing the school garden as an outdoor classroom and teaching tool. Lesson topics include plant life cycles, habitats and environments, pollination, soil and decomposition, planting and harvesting, the water cycle, senses in the garden, interdependence between plants and animals, measurements and data collection and more. Contact us if you would like more information on how we can help build and support gardens at your school.
