Download the Official Rules & Instructions.

October is National Farm to School Month, a time to celebrate the connections happening all across the country between schools and local food producers. Gallatin Valley Farm to School invites students to participate in the 2012 Gallatin County Farm to School Month Poster Contest.

Gallatin Valley Farm to School is organizing the contest in the hope that students will celebrate Farm to School Month by creating inspiring, original posters that express the theme “Farm to School Under the Big Sky.”

The contest is open to kindergarten – 5th grade students residing in Gallatin County. One winner will be selected from each participating school and one from all home school entries. One Grand Prize winner will be selected from all entries.

The Grand Prize winner will receive a gift certificate from Rocky Mountain Toy Company. One winner chosen from each school will receive a Farm to School t-shirt. In addition, winning posters will be displayed in Bozeman at Sola Café in December and January. Winners will be announced and recognized on the website of Gallatin Valley Farm to School and in local media. The winning posters will be used in Farm to School Month celebrations in October 2013 and distributed as promotional materials.

In November 2010, Congress approved House Resolution 1655 officially designating October as National Farm to School Month. Students celebrate by embarking on farm field trips, eating farm fresh foods in their school cafeterias, learning in their school gardens, and much more.
