Bozeman School District students will be able to celebrate Montana’s agricultural bounty by feasting on a Local Lunch on March 4, 2010. The delicious menu includes alfredo pasta, freshly baked herb bread, fruits and vegetables and a choice of milk.
The menu includes products from all over Montana, including pasta from Great Falls, alfredo sauce ingredients from Bozeman and bread dough from Billings. Country Classic milk, out of Bozeman, is offered daily in BSD schools.
Volunteers with Gallatin Valley Farm to School and Bozeman School District, suited up in fruit and vegetable costumes, will be offering up samples and fun food facts. If you want to join your favorite student for lunch on this day, please contact the school’s secretary to make reservations.
Bozeman School District’s Food Services works with Gallatin Valley Farm to School to increase the amount of local foods offered in their cafeterias. Local schools represent a large segment of the food market and it has been shown that every $1 spent on local food purchases creates $1.87 in local spending.
If you want to be one of the lucky volunteer veggies, contact Aubree at email@example.com immediately. Two volunteers are needed for each school!
